THEME: “Breaking Rabies Boundaries”

Rabies is deemed as one of the most neglected tropical disease worldwide, Impacting billions globally. In Guyana, the effects of this disease is seen in parts of some of our administrative regions; Resulting, from vampire bat (D. Rotundus ) transmission to livestock , primarily cattle.
Today in observance of the 18th World Rabies Day, celebrated under the theme “Breaking Boundaries” we recognize the relationship between farmers and their Livestock; From an environmental perspective we also welcome the call for a unified front “One Health Approach” to sustainably address and eliminate this disease.
